As you get older, there are limitations on the type of insurance you can have through Health Super.
If you're aged 65+ you are eligible for Death Cover.
If your age next birthday is 65, you are no longer eligible for TPD or Income Protection Cover. Any TPD or Income Protection Cover you may have ceases at age 65.
If your age next birthday is 70, you are no longer eligible for Death Cover. Any Death Cover you may have ceases at age 70.
If you only have a pension with us, then you are not eligible for insurance cover. However, if you feel you need insurance cover to protect your family and financial interests you can still obtain insurance cover through a separate accumulation account within Health Super or outside super (e.g. by purchasing insurance policy directly from an insurance company).
If you’d like advice on how much cover suits your lifestyle, you should seek advice from a qualified financial planner like Health Super Financial Planning or call them on 1300 780 223.
