Super is a tax effective way of investing for your retirement. There are various tax rules that affect your super so there are advantages to making sure we have your Tax File Number (TFN).Providing your TFN means:
- we can accept all types of contributions (particularly personal contributions) to your account
- the tax on contributions to your super account won’t increase
- other than the tax that will ordinarily apply, we won’t have to deduct any additional tax when you start drawing down your super
- it’ll make it much easier to trace different super accounts in your name and ensure that you receive all your super when you retire.
What happens if you don’t provide your TFN?
- we are unable to accept ANY personal contributions
- you may have to pay a higher tax on the contributions your employer pays on your behalf
- you may have to pay a higher tax when you withdraw from your account.
