Chris Clausen – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Chris began his career as a banker in 1977 with the Bank of NSW (now Westpac) and later held positions with Standard Chartered Bank and Challenge Bank. In 1994 he was appointed Assistant Director Finance & Liability Management with the Victorian Department of Treasury & Finance. He moved to Health Super in 2001, serving a 3.5 year ‘apprenticeship’ as Operations Manager before becoming Deputy CEO. He was appointed CEO in January 2005. Chris has a Masters of Business in Accounting and Finance and a Certificate of Business Studies (Real Estate). After family and work, his interests include farming, cars and all types of sport, particularly AFL football and the Bombers.

Carol McKelson-Timmins – Chief Operations Officer (COO)Carol has over 25 years experience in managing significant outsourcing, business process and change. She’s worked in roles at TXU, United Energy, Multinet Gas and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Carol has also been involved in various leadership programs at the Melbourne Business School and holds a certificate from the Securities Institute of Australia. Carol has been a CFA volunteer since 1994 and is currently the Vice President of the Selby Rural Fire Brigade Auxiliary. She is also a keen scuba diver.

Graeme Lawrie - Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Graeme is an experienced Chartered Accountant. He’s worked with the State Government of Victoria and with Ernst and Young. He’s also served as the CFO of the Nurses Board of Victoria. Graeme relaxes by walking and cycling. He enjoys listening to all genres of music and likes exploring the great outdoors.

Brendon Shepherd - Chief Investments Officer (CIO)Brendon worked as a Senior Investment Analyst at Towers Perrin and UniSuper, and as a Fund Investment Analyst at BHP Billiton. He has a Masters of Economics degree, and a Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments.

Gary McGrath - Chief Governance Officer (CGO)Gary has a legal background. Prior to accepting the newly created role of CGO with Health Super in July 2009, he spent three years as Company Secretary / Legal Counsel with another superannuation fund. Before that, he spent two years as a lawyer with ASIC and 10 years as a lawyer working primarily in the areas of commercial litigation and insolvency in Perth, W.A. He is admitted to practise as a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Courts of S.A, W.A, Vic and the High Court of Australia, In addition to being a Chartered Secretary (FCIS), Gary holds a BA, LLB (Adel) and LLM (Syd). When not at work, he enjoys exercise, reading and sleeping but has little time for any because of his 2 children - a 6 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. Both of which he describes as rascals!
